Facebook/YouTube Live: Academic Misconduct (Cheating) in Nursing Education

FreeWhy do students cheat? Would you be surprised to hear it may be your fault as the educator? At least partially.
Keith Rischer, PhD, RN, CCRN, CEN, and Maria Flores-Harris DNP, RN, CNE, KeithRN’s new Nurse Educator Consultant, will examine the many reasons students say they cheat and identify the educator’s role in our students’ misconduct.
We will ponder the answers to the following questions:
1. Is the class preparation workload I expect from my students reasonable? Is it even doable?
2. Is every assignment in my course tied to a course objective?
3. Do I provide timely and meaningful feedback to my students on their assignments and tests?
4. Do I and does my institution reward learning or performance?
5. Have I provided clear and explicit explanations of the expectations for my course and each assignment? You may be surprised at some of the answers you hear on our next Facebook and YouTube Live!
